Thirty-Five Years of Ashford: The Kitchen and Interiors Specialists

This coming November will mark thirty-five years since Ashford Kitchens & Interiors first came into being. As such we feel it’s a good time to give you a brief insight into our journey over the last thirty-five years — and how we got to where we are today.

Along the way, we’ve developed our knowledge of kitchens, bedrooms and home-offices and we’ve carried out thousands of bespoke installations in and around Ashford, Middlesex and Farnham Common, Buckinghamshire. We’ve expanded our team while remaining — at the core — a family-run business. Every passing year, we have grown and we’ve loved every moment of it. So here’s how we have evolved as leading providers of bespoke kitchens, bedrooms and home offices in and around London!

Team 35 Ashford

Our Objectives and Approach

Our primary driving force is a love for all things home design. There is a great enjoyment to be had in adapting and designing a client’s surroundings and we love putting smiles on people’s faces by transforming their living spaces.

Every project is unique. Whether it’s a bespoke luxury kitchen installation, a bedroom refurbishment or a home office extension, each project offers its challenges and has its own charm. For us — regardless of the size or shape of your design — our objective is to fulfil and surpass your expectations and it gives us great pleasure to see our customers’ happiness.

We pride ourselves on what we can deliver and how we go about it. We offer complete redesign and installation of kitchens, bedrooms and home offices in the most meticulous yet efficient manner. Every project is special to us and we aim to make it as stress-free as possible for you.

As specialists of bespoke kitchens, bedrooms and home-offices we absolutely understand that each project is different. We are efficient whilst also appreciating that rooms and designs are as diverse as people and require key attention to detail.

We source high-quality cabinetry and brand-leading appliances from the best manufacturers in Britain, boast a range of specialist kitchen worktops and bespoke kitchen splashbacks and the very best flooring, tiles and lighting.

A Short History of Ashford Kitchens & Interiors

Ashford Kitchens & Interiors began thirty-five years ago in 1984. Founders Richard and Tracey Flower decided to open their first showroom in Ashford, Middlesex and have been part of the Kitchen Bedroom Specialists Association (KBSA) ever since. When the doors first opened the company was known as Ashford Fitted Furniture. For the next thirty-five years, Richard and Tracey designed, supplied and installed quality fitted kitchens, bespoke bedrooms and innovative home-offices.

In 2010, twenty-six years after Richard and Tracey founding the company, their son Stephen joined the team. His wife Grace joined him soon after, followed by their brother-in-law Guy. Four years down the line, following the success of their initial Ashford showroom, the team launched their second showroom, this time in Buckinghamshire’s Farnham Common.

The company continues to expand from its humble origins as a family owned and family run business. The Flowers still operate the two showrooms and Ashford remains a local, friendly, family-run business. In 2017 Ashford Interiors was awarded the elite Cosentino award which recognises premium showrooms and grants priority status to all of the latest worktop colours and styles.

Later the same year the Ashford Middlesex kitchen showroom was relaunched after undergoing a three-month refurbishment that saw ten new kitchen displays, nine modern bedroom and home-office displays as well as an entirely new shopfront. Stephen summarised Ashford’s desire to keep developing and renewing Ashford’s two showrooms:

‘Over the years we have firmly believed in the importance of showcasing the very latest design ideas in kitchens & bedrooms. Customers want to see and touch the product in a stylish setting which is why our showrooms are regularly updated.’

Today Ashford Kitchens & Interiors are one of three hundred fully accredited independent retailers in the United Kingdom, recognised as providers of high-quality advice and services for home improvements and installations.

The Ashford Kitchens & Interiors Team

We have a fantastic, dedicated team who have carried out several thousand installations over the years — all the while ensuring that Ashford provides the absolute best service possible. The design team, project management team and installation team all boast a  wealth of experience and expertise gained over years of working in the industry.

We pride ourselves on our friendly, professional and efficient approach, striving to make sure you feel you are in the best possible hands. Our team all work locally and understand that as a local, family run business we need to do our utmost to keep our customers satisfied and guarantee that they are happy with the experience from the first point of contact onwards. Following every installation, we request feedback which we then make visible on our website via our testimonials page.
