Ashford Kitchens & Interiors FAQ

We understand that buying a new shaker kitchen or investing in a perfect home office can be daunting if you don’t feel you have all the information. This is why we wanted to make a page for any Frequently Asked Questions about kitchen design or bedroom fitting (among other topics!) that we get either via email or in person at one of our state of the art showrooms in Ashford or Farnham Common.

About Our Process

Do you charge a design fee?

No, our design consultations are no obligation and free of charge. Plans and proposals remain property of Ashford Kitchens until an order is placed.

What’s the step by step process?

The first step is to visit our showroom and have a look at our extensive range of kitchens on offer. We would then look to arrange a suitable time within the next few days to arrange for a designer to come and measure your kitchen. (If you have plans for an extension we would invite to meet with our designer in our showroom for your consultation.)

Our designer would then take all the information discussed, along with measurements of your space, and put together a tailored design to meet your requirements. They would then present this to you at a presentation meeting back at our showroom.

Once you’ve decided to place your deposit with us, we would introduce you to our project manager, who will look after the ordering and installation process for you, booking in a fitting date and answering any installation questions you may have.

Do you provide a full renovation service?

At Ashford Kitchens, we pride ourselves in being able to offer a fully project managed service. We have a team of electricians, plumbers, plasterers, tilers, and carpenters to undertake a start to finish service, all brought together by our in house project-management team. All our installers have the appropriate qualifications for work being carried out (Electricians are ‘Part P’ qualified and gas engineers are registered on the ‘Gas Safe’ register.) You will receive certificates for these where required.

Delivery Questions

How quickly can you deliver and fit my new kitchen, bedroom or office?

Lead times vary throughout the year depending on how busy we and the factory get, but we are usually able to install a kitchen within 6-12 weeks of placing an order with us.  Please speak to your designer for a more accurate reflection on our current lead times.

Can I change my existing order?

Yes, providing you haven’t reached the ‘cut-off’ for changing your order.  This date will vary depending on which items you’ve ordered from us, so please speak with your designer who will be able to advise when the cut off dates for changes will be.

Installing your Kitchen, Bedroom or Home Office

I have a friend who’s a carpenter, can they fit the kitchen or bedroom I buy from you?

Yes we are happy to deliver your order as a ‘supply-only’ order.  However we do always recommend that you use our fitters, as they are used to fitting the products we supply.  You also then benefit from our in-house project management service which you’ll get when having your kitchen installed by us.

Should I lay my floor before the kitchen is installed?

This would depend on the type of flooring you’re having installed. Please speak to your designer who will be able to advise.

Do you carry out all electrics and plumbing?

Yes.  If you decide to choose our full installation service, all our electricians and plumbers are ‘Part P’ and ‘Gas Safe’ qualified.  You will receive certificates for these where required.

Do you supply all the materials and tools when you come to install?

Yes.  Everything required to install the kitchen as agreed will be supplied by Ashford Kitchens.  Anything added by you that was not agreed at point of sale would be subject to additional costs.

Finance FAQs

When do I need to pay?

This will vary depending on the type of service/products you’ve purchased from us.  Please speak with your designer or project manager who will be able to advise of payment dates.

How much will a kitchen cost?

This is dependent on the style, worktops, appliances, how much fitting is involved. We have a very large range of options which can meet a wide range of budgets.

Do your kitchens come with a guarantee / how long is the warranty?

Yes. The kitchen cabinets come with a 10 year manufacturing guarantee. All other items in the kitchen such as sink, appliances, tap, worktops etc have different warranties which we can advise you on.  As a member of the KBSA, you also get other benefits for buying a kitchen from us. Manufacturing and Materials

What worktops do you supply?

We supply a variety of worktops including; Silestone, Dekton, Granite, Corian, Laminate and Wood.

Which kitchen appliances do you supply?

We supply a wide range of kitchen appliances at competitive prices from well known manufacturers including Neff, Falmec, Quooker, Caple, Bosch, Siemens, Elica, Franke, Britannia and Stoves.

Where are your cabinets manufactured?

Sheraton kitchens are manufactured to order at their purpose-built factory in Yorkshire.
